When a person looks at a Scion xB, he or she can’t help but look at it. Maybe it’s the shape, that weird box-shape that features those angry-eyed headlights. It is quite a unique car in terms of style and design.
The Scion xB is one of the original car models released when Scion was founded in 2002.
In 2002, Toyota wanted a piece of the American automotive market, according to autoevolution.com.
Like any other large car manufacturer, Toyota founded a new company. That company was Scion.
That same year Toyota showcased two concept models at the New York Auto Show. Those concept models were named the “bbX” and “ccX’, according to autoevolution.com.
Those same concept models were later rebranded as the Scion xB and Scion tC.
The Scion brand was meant to capture the youth of America with cars that were very reasonably priced, and that were very customizable too, according to autoevolution.com.
I recently spoke to two Scion xB owners to get their thoughts and opinions on this unique car.
Justin Juha, of CAPE CORAL, Fl., owned a 2007 Scion xB.
Juha likes to customize cars then sell them
However, after all of the work he did, he grew attached to his Scion xB.
“I miss it, I got rid of it and should have kept it,” said Juha while expressing his admiration for the Scion xB he owned.
Juha mentioned that he liked the design. He said that the car was not too large, but it was still extremely roomy on the inside.
“It’s very surprising, almost like an optical illusion,” said Juha
Juha also liked the gas mileage on the car. However, that incredible gas mileage came with a price.
According to autoevolution.com, the 2007 Scion xB had a very small engine that only produced 103 horsepower.
“Slow… slowest car I ever owned,” said Juha when he was asked about his dislikes on the Scion xB.
Juha then concluded “There’s not much that I didn’t like about it”.
The Scion xB I actually got a chance to see belonged to Krishna Samoedjh, of LEHIGH ACRES, Fl.
Sameodjh owns a 2013 Scion xB. As young college student, Sameodjh needed a car to get him from place to place. He settled into getting the Scion xB.
“I thought it was practical, looked cool…you know, had all kinds of nice goodies,” said Sameodjh.
Sameodjh said that he liked all the electronic gadgets that these newer Scion xB cars offer.
He also mentioned that he enjoys the design of his Scion xB.
“It’s very roomy, I mean if you look around there is so much space”
Sameodjh admires his Scion xB unconditionally.
However, he does wish the car had a manual transmission
In terms of design, both Sameodjh and Juha expressed that both of Scions are very roomy.
Juha expressed it best, “You feel like sitting in your house not in your car.”
