Capetown completes construction on new aquatic center
Ctiy to host grand opening event
WHAT: Capetown will host a grand opening event for the Capetown Aquatic Center. The facility includes 50-meter Olympic pool, family pool and splash zone.
WHO: Olympic gold medalist, Michael Phelps will lead the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Samantha Winters and Hunter Sweeny will speak at the event.
WHEN: The event will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3.
9 a.m. Mayor Samantha Winters will deliver welcoming remarks
9:10 a.m. Rev. John Mayfield perform will an invocation
9:15 a.m. Michael Phelps will deliver his remarks and lead the ribbon
cutting along with 10 members of the Capetown High swim
team.
9:30 a.m. Hunter Sweeny will deliver closing remarks
9:45 a.m. Phelps and swim team members will work out together
10:30 a.m.
11 a.m. The aquatic center will open to the public
WHERE: The ceremony will take place at the Capetown Aquatic Center located at, 1256 Cape Blvd. in Capetown, Florida.
NOTE: Media may photograph the Phelps and high school swim team workout starting at 9:45 a.m.
